Informed Consent

Student Veteran's Academic Success.

Survey Participants Age 18 and older

If you choose to participate in this study, you will be placed in one of two groups and asked to:  

​

  1. Each group will complete two surveys (a pre and post) that take approximately 20 minutes each to complete. The survey is located under the survey section of this website.

  2. If you are selected to be in group one, you will just complete the pre-survey and in 4-5 weeks, complete the post-survey

  3. If you are selected to be in group two, you will participate in an Academic Boot Camp class, approximately One hour long.

 

This study has no foreseeable risks to you, and there is no cost involved on your part.

However, the benefits of this study will allow student veterans to understand their self-confidence level better when it comes to academic success and how to improve it.

 

As a participant in this study, you should understand the following:

 

  1. Participation is voluntary, and if you choose not to participate, there is no penalty or loss of benefits.

  2. If you decide to participate in this study, you may withdraw at any time without penalty or loss of benefits. However, any previously collected information will be immediately destroyed and removed from the study. If you want to withdraw, please info me at 321-501-5173 or email R.Martin2@SNHU.edu RM6000@email.phoenix.edu.

  3. Each participant will use a self-generated code to track the completion of the pre and post-survey. Your identity will be kept confidential by the researcher

  4. All data (records, notes, files, surveys, and informed consent documents) from the study will be kept secure by only the researcher on a computer that is not connected to the internet and is password protected. All data will be held for two (2) years. After that time, all data will be destroyed.

  5. The results of this study may be published.
